Engaged Education, is a division of MEDLIFE, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development projects. Unlike the traditional student educational tours led predominantly by private companies, Engaged Education was born from a desire to do better.
We firmly believe that as a nonprofit organization, we have the potential to create a far greater impact, benefiting both the communities we work with and creating life-changing moments for our participants.

MEDLIFE, founded by Dr. Nick Ellis in 2004, addresses unmet needs in underserved communities. This movement involves students and professionals who engage in Service Learning Trips and support projects in Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Tanzania. Every Engaged Education tour directly contributes to community development projects and patient treatment through MEDLIFE.
