Day 1: Arrival to Lima
Welcome to LIM Airport! Look for a MEDLIFE associate with the Engaged Education logo. Relax and settle into the hotel. Meals not provided, but nearby restaurants are available. Rejuvenate and prepare for impactful days ahead!
Day 2: Lima City Tour and LUM
Explore Lima’s historical center in the morning, uncovering its captivating past. After lunch, visit Lugar de la Memoria to learn about Peru’s recent history and reflect on its collective memory. Optional visit to Lima’s Magic Water Circuit after dinner, a stunning show of music, water, and laser lights.
Day 3: Reality Tour
Start the day with a hearty breakfast at the hostel. Join the immersive Reality Tour, exploring urban settlements where MEDLIFE makes a difference. Confront challenging realities and witness MEDLIFE’s impact at Mini MED Center in Union Santa Fe community. Broaden your perspective and make a positive impact!
Day 4: Arrival to Arequipa
Arrive at Rodríguez Ballón International Airport (AQP) with an early flight. After checking in at the hotel, we’ll explore Arequipa’s architectural marvels, including the Plaza de Armas, and the San Francisco complex. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina.
Day 5: Journey to the Colca Valley
Today, we embark on a scenic journey from Arequipa to the breathtaking Colca Valley. Marvel at majestic mountain peaks like Misti, Pichu Pichu, and Chachani in Patawasi. After a morning of awe-inspiring sights, we’ll have a relaxing afternoon.
Day 6: Colca Canyon and Cruz del Condor
After breakfast, we’ll head to the charming town of Yanque, known for its historical church. Afterward, we’ll return to Chivay for a delightful lunch and make stops at scenic lookouts. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey to Puno.
Day 7: Titicaca Lake Full Day
Depart from Puno early and head to the renowned Uros Islands, where families live on floating platforms made of totora reeds. Enjoy a traditional lunch before sailing back to Puno, reflecting on the enriching cultural experiences of the day.
Day 8: Journey from the Altiplano to Cusco
Prepare for an exciting day as we leave the hotel and journey to Cusco. Enjoy stunning views at La Raya, the highest point between Puno and Cusco.
Day 9: The Sacred Valley!
Discover the Sacred Valley, only 45 minutes from Cusco. Visit the captivating Sounds of the Andes Interpretation Center in Cuyo Chico. Experience the ancient art of crafting clay instruments and immerse yourself in the Inca heritage. Engage in a hands-on ceramic workshop. Later, explore the remarkable Pisac Archaeological Site for more adventure.
Day 10: Explore Machu Picchu
Catch the early train to Aguas Calientes for a mesmerizing visit to Machu Picchu. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site with an expert guide, unraveling its ancient secrets and capturing stunning photos.
Day 11: Free Day in Cusco
Enjoy a free day in vibrant Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Immerse yourself in its rich history and culture. Consider booking an optional activity to enhance your experience. Make the most of this day and create unforgettable memories in this captivating destination!
Day 12: Rainbow Mountain
Embark on an awe-inspiring adventure to Rainbow Mountain. Hike through charming communities, encounter grazing alpacas and llamas, and enjoy breathtaking views of Ausangate Mountain.
Day 13: Departure
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport for your onward travel or return flight home. We extend our warm wishes for safe and joyous travels ahead!
