Day 1: Arrival to Quito
Arrive at UIO Airport where an Engaged Education representative will assist with check-in. Attend the Welcome Meeting to review the itinerary, discuss safety, and meet the team. Prepare for an incredible week ahead!
Day 3: Transfer Quito to Riobamba
After breakfast, we’ll take a 4-hour bus ride to Riobamba, enjoying scenic views of mountains and countryside villages. In Riobamba, have free time to explore the vibrant main square and discover the city’s hidden gems.
Day 4: Guamote Market
On Thursdays, Guamote comes alive with vibrant colors as locals don their colorful attire and gather for the bustling market day. Experience this energetic and captivating display of community and tradition in Guamote.
Day 5: Visit to Baños
Today, we journey to Baños, a vibrant city at the base of Tungurahua Volcano. Known for its hot springs and stunning views, Baños offers adventure and rich traditions.
Day 6: Transfer to Tena
After bidding farewell to Baños, you will travel to Tena. Once you arrive, you will have some free time in the afternoon to relax and explore the city at your own pace.
Day 7: Reality Tour
Start your Reality Tour by visiting the Community of Ahuano to meet a local family and learn about traditional medicine. Visit the women’s co-op, and learn about the unique culture and attire of the Amazonian rainforest. Finally, relax at the picturesque River Beach of Misahualli port and enjoy the serene atmosphere
Day 8: Transfer to Quito
Return to Quito from Riobamba, where you’ll have free time to relax and explore the city. In the afternoon, participate in a cooking class to learn local recipes and join a lively salsa class to experience Latin American music.
Day 9: Departure
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport for your onward travel or return flight home. We extend our warm wishes for safe and joyous travels ahead!
