Day 1: Arrival to Quito
Arrive at UIO Airport where an Engaged Education representative will assist with check-in. Attend the Welcome Meeting to review the itinerary, discuss safety, and meet the team. Prepare for an incredible week ahead!
Day 2: Quito City Tour
Embark on a city tour to discover Quito’s highlights, including the magnificent Compañía de Jesus church. Later, visit the “Mitad del Mundo” equator line to straddle two hemispheres, take photos, and explore museums.
Day 3: Cotopaxi
Starting with an early departure from Quito, our tour takes us to Cotopaxi National Park. Our guide will lead us to the Limpiopungo Lagoon, where we can observe bird species and possibly spot wild horses. We’ll also visit the Interpretation Center to learn about the volcano’s eruptions and local flora and fauna.
Day 4: Transfer to Tena
After breakfast, we’ll travel to Tena by bus, enjoying the transition from mountains to lush jungles during the 5-hour journey. In the evening, we’ll visit the charming Malecón Escenico of Tena, a picturesque waterfront area, to soak up the local atmosphere.
Day 5: Reality Tour
Start your Reality Tour by visiting the Community of Ahuano to meet a local family and learn about traditional medicine. Visit the women’s co-op, and learn about the unique culture and attire of the Amazonian rainforest. Finally, relax at the picturesque River Beach of Misahualli port and enjoy the serene atmosphere
Day 6: Visit to Baños
Today, we journey to Baños, a vibrant city at the base of Tungurahua Volcano. Known for its hot springs and stunning views, Baños offers adventure and rich traditions.
Day 7: Baños Free Day
On your free day, choose from thrilling activities at the adventure activity center. Experience the breathtaking landscape and have an exhilarating time or ride a mountaintop cable car and walk across a glass bridge for a bird’s eye view of the forest.
Day 8: Transfer to Quito
Return to Quito, where you’ll have free time to relax and explore the city. In the afternoon, participate in a cooking class to learn local recipes and join a lively salsa class to experience Latin American music.
Day 9: Departure
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport for your onward travel or return flight home. We extend our warm wishes for safe and joyous travels ahead!
